World War I

Interpretation Center, Ploegsteert, Belgien

Completed: 2013

For the permanent exhibition for the Centre d'interprétation “Plugstreet 14-18 Experience” parts of the military infrastructure in the region around Ploegsteert were virtually reconstructed.

The reconstruction shows the trenches and the entrance into an underground tunnel system, in which the allies were able to place mines underneath the German positions where they then exploded.

A further central theme is the underground quarters of the allies. A section shows the integration into the slope. Camera movement shows the quarters in detail.

Another virtual model shows the entire system of trenches and underground tunnels in the area of Hill 60.
