Torgau and the reformation
Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden
Fertigstellung: 2015
A model of the city of Torgau in 1600 was made for the exhibition “Luther and the Princes”, shown in Schloß Hartenfels. Beforehand intensive scientific research was conducted about the historical situation. The terrain was mill-cut and the buildings plaster-printed and attached to the base plate by means of pegs.
A projection onto the model and a synchronous display on a screen act as the theme and locate and illuminate the momentous events and background at the time of the Reformation in Torgau.
This project, commissioned by the Staatlichen Kunstsammlungen Dresden, is an example for the working method of Architectura Virtualis of first simulating exhibits. Different sites, protective measures such as display cases or barriers, heights of installation and casings can be simulated and then discussed with the client.
