The Grat War

Centre d'interprétation, Ploegsteert (Belgium)

Completed: 2013

Together with a network of partners Architectura Virtualis produced complete exhibitions about World War I. These included the presentation of the exhibitions to the conception of the use of the media and the development of the contents to the installation of the hardware. The first exhibition was realized in Ploegsteert, Belgium.

The exhibition starts with an 18 minute introductory film, depicting World War I with animated maps and historic film material. A central theme thereafter is the war in the region. A model of the countryside is illuminated by the animation of the frontline. Synchronically texts and pictures are projected on the wall behind.

With the partners a five meter long multi touch wall was developed. Its theme is the Battle of Messines, the most important one in this region.
